Visit Sinaloa Informative

EduVentura®

Operated by Sendero Mexico & housed in the legendary Hotel Playa Mazatlan

Other quality operators, services and tours coming soon!

Sinaloa Informative is an ambitious project aimed at highlighting the rural, cultural, ecological sites, phenomena and traditions of Sinaloa and is fast becoming one of the most important ways to communicate the virtues and attractions of Sinaloa.

The website, designed and administered by Haro Publicistas from Mazatlan is including the rest of the country in the same categories with the aim of increasing the competitiveness of Mazatlan and Sinaloa.

The Tufted Jay Preserve is an important 10,000 acre conservation Project in the Sierra Madre Oriental. The beautiful pine oak forest canyons along the Mazatlan Durango highway hide the endemic and endangered Tufted Jay. Join Sendero Mexico on a birding or other tour and learn what has been accomplished together with the local ejido (land co-op which owns and has logged the area selectively), Pronatura Noroeste and government agencies to protect this endangered bird.

Rico’s Café is simply the best coffee in Mazatlan. Their owners and staff are committed to sustainable practices and all their coffee comes from shade grown organic farmers in Mexico. Shade grown coffee is good for birds, the environment and provides better income for growers.

Onca Explorations is the only licensed whale watching outfit in Mazatlan. Owner Oscar Guzon is a trained marine biologist and great guide.

The winter months in Mazatlan offer great opportunities to humpbacks and other whales as well as many dolphins.

The Hotel Playa Mazatlan, our partner in this EduVentura project is committed  to sustainable tourism practices . It is one of the few hotels in Mexico to obtain the “Clean Industry Award” from PROFEPA, Mexico’s Environmental Protection Agency.

The Hotel Playa has also participated actively in the sea turtle conservation initiative for years, during September & October of 2007, more than 2500 turtle eggs were protected and the juveniles released on the Playa Mazatlan beach, 45 days after hatching.

See video! (coming soon)

Many other Playa Projects include financial and structural support to the interesting Mazatlan Cultural scene as well as a variety of social programs for the Hotel employees and the general population.
